Treat Hives - Hives are a group of red spots or bumps that, the person flare skin. Hives are usually caused by an allergic reaction, and the person may feel itchy. Since the hives can sometimes last for several days, you should treat them. Read on and learn more.


How to Treat Hives


Find out what is causing hives to appear. Since hives are triggered by allergic reaction, most effective step in treatment is to eliminate your exposure to this item. Note if you have tried new soap or detergent that could be causing hives.

Take antihistamine. Most over counter antihistamines, such as Benadryl, effectively reduce or eliminate hives. Your doctor may prescribe stronger version for more effective treatment.


Place cool washcloth on effected area. This provides relief for itching or burning.


Wear lightweight clothing. While you are having hives outbreak, avoid wearing anything that is tight. Tight clothing can cause you to sweat and worsen condition.
